Synopsis... Light westerly breezes will become light southerly late tonight on all Keys waters...then light to gentle southeast to south breezes will prevail on Saturday. Winds will back mostly northeast and gradually increase Saturday night and Sunday in advance of Hurricane Ike...which may be approaching the Florida Keys and South Florida Monday. Mariners should continue to monitor the latest advisories from the National Hurricane Center regarding Hurricane Ike. The approximate shoreward edge of the Gulf Stream as of September 5 2008... 24 nautical miles S of Dry Tortugas light...on Loggerhead Key. 14 nautical miles S of Cosgrove Shoal light...off the Marquesas Keys. 13 nautical miles S of Sand Key light...off Key West. 11 nautical miles S of Looe Key light...off Big Pine Key. 9 nautical miles S of Sombrero Key light...off Marathon. 8 nautical miles se of Alligator Reef light...off Islamorada. 8 nautical miles se of Molasses Reef light...off Key Largo. 11 nautical miles E of Carysfort Reef light...off Ocean Reef.
