Slow moving ridge lies along 28s. In a belt 420 miles wide centred on
a line 35s 134w 35s 126w 33s 119w: westerly 25kt, easing by 070600z.
Poor visibility in rain within 60 miles of front 35s 151w 37s 142w
41s 132w 49s 121w, moving northnortheast 15kt. Within 300 miles
northeast of front: north to northwest 25kt, gale as in warning 162.
South of front: southwest 25kt, tending clockwise about low 960hpa
near 54s 135w, moving eastsoutheast 20kt. Gale and storm areas as in
warnings 160 and 161, with heavy southwest swell. High 1022hpa near
39s 162w extends a ridge south to 46s 162w, both moving eastnortheast
35kt. South of a line 48s 170w 51s 157w 50s 152w: westerly 25kt, gale
as in warning 163. In a belt 360 miles wide centred on a line 39s
175w 46s 174w 55s 176w: northerly 25kt, gale as in warning 164, with
heavy northwest swell. Belt of wind extending east 30kt.
Outlook following 72 hours:
trough along 125w south of 32s moving east. Northwest 30 to 40kt east
of trough. Large high 34s 150w moving east extends ridge
southsoutheast. Southwest 30 to 40kt west of trough and east of ridge.
Second trough extends northwest from 55s 172w moving east. Northwest
40 to 50kt west of ridge and east of second trough. Westerly 30 to
40kt west of second trough. Low developing near 30s 129w after
081800z moving east. Clockwise 30 to 40kt about southern semi Circle
of low easing to 20 to 30kt after 092100z. Heavy swells with gales.
