Winter Weather Advisory
Issued by the National Weather Service at 3:24 PM CST on December 3, 2008

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until midnight CST
tonight...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow remains in effect until
midnight CST tonight.

Snow was beginning to fall in the north and west suburbs of
Chicago at 300 PM. It will spread to the south suburbs and
Northwest Indiana by 400 PM to 500 PM.

Snow will be ending at Rockford and Dixon around 600 PM... and
from Chicago to Ottawa around 800 PM... .and in the south suburbs
and Northwest Indiana by 1000 PM.

Snow will only last a few hours at any point but will come down
with enough intensity to accumulate. Snow may be mixed with rain
initially especially from Chicago southward. Snow will reach its
peak intensity in the Chicago Metro area during the rush
hour... which could lead to hazardous travel.

Total snowfall will range from 2 to 3 inches in far northern
Illinois near the Wisconsin border... to an inch or two from Ottawa
to Chicago. The south suburbs and Northwest Indiana will only
receive about an inch of snow.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that accumulating snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
